Are you thinking of buying a quaint home, apartment, or loft, but you’re concerned that the Kitchen is too small? Or, maybe you’ve lived there for some time and it’s time redesign and remodel?
Turning a ho-hum, tiny cooking area into a clever kitchen design can be a fun and practical accomplishment. Whether you do it yourself or work with a Designer or General Contractor there are a handful of principals and recommendations to consider.
Brighten, Lighten, and Open It Up
Sun & Lighting
Open up those windows to let in that sunlight and add multiple options for lighting. Having options for lighting based on the time of day and it’s function lets you change the mood for this end of the house with the flick of a switch.
Colors
The right color can change your kitchen’s entire feel. A bright, fresh white is perfect for a small space because it creates the illusion of more space. Though, with enough natural and artificial lighting you can venture into darker, more adventurous tones.
Floor Plan - Let it Spill
If you have been struggling to find space for your kitchen appliances, then an open layout might be just what is needed. By removing walls and opening up the room’s shape there are more possibilities when it comes storage or seating in neighboring spaces.
You can also go with glass panels on upper cabinet doors which will allow light into your cabinets and help to open up the look of your kitchen.
